Tom Janenda

Tom Janenda serves as President of the Northeast Infrastructure Accelerator (NEX).  Infrastructure accelerators provide expert advice to help local, municipal, state and regional public sectors and project sponsors analyze, prepare and build a “pipeline” of investment-ready projects by focusing on innovation and performance-based infrastructure.  A former Special Assistant and Deputy Communications Director in President Bill Clinton’s White House, Janenda is also founder and partner of Portland, Maine-based Elevate Consulting & Communications and has worked on broadband, renewable energy and water infrastructure projects.  He is also the Broadband Infrastructure Policy Leader for FocusMaine, a private sector-lead organization of Maine’s largest employers working to create sustained economic growth and jobs in the agriculture, aquaculture and biopharmaceutical sectors.

Monica Castellanos

Monica Castellanos serves as Senior Advisor to the Northeast Infrastructure Accelerator (NEX). A former Senior Advisor and Communications Director to former Maine Congressman Michael Michaud who worked with federal agencies across the U.S. Government to attract investment in Maine’s economic infrastructure. Highlights included major investments in transportation infrastructure and creation and funding of the Northern Border Bill, which invests in rural broadband and other economic development needs in distressed areas of the Northern Forest Region. Castellanos is also a partner of Portland, Maine-based Elevate Consulting & Communications and has worked on broadband, renewable energy and water infrastructure projects.
